A quarter century of flock management means she has lived through molts, hormonal seasons, special diets, medication schedules, bonded pairs, rescues, and every personality a parrot can bring. Very little surprises her, and what does gets handled calmly.
Her professional background is in businesses where trust is the product. Eleanor founded Absolutely Delightful Arizona Honey in Phoenix and served as its Managing Member until the company was sold in October 2025. Before that, she spent eighteen years as the lead salesperson at her family's jewelry store in Canada. Decades of looking customers in the eye and standing behind her word shape how she runs this service: clear agreements, honest communication, and care she's willing to put her name on.
Eleanor founded Eleanor's Avian Care, LLC — operating as Elie's Bird Sitting — to provide Phoenix-area bird owners with a professional in-home care option that doesn't require them to choose between a boarding facility and hoping for the best. Birds stay in their own homes, in their own cages, on their own schedules. That consistency matters, especially for parrots and other species sensitive to environmental change.
She carries professional liability insurance and a surety bond through the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS) — the industry's primary credentialing body. Every engagement begins with a signed service agreement and a detailed Bird Care Profile covering diet, health history, behavioral notes, vet contact, and emergency authorization. There are no shortcuts on paperwork because shortcuts show up in care.

Information We Collect
When you submit the Bird Care intake form or sign a Service Agreement, we collect the following information:
- Your name, email address, phone number, and home address
- Your bird's name, species, dietary needs, behavioral notes, and health history
- Your veterinarian's name and phone number
- Your emergency contact's name and phone number
- Any home access information required to provide care (key codes, alarm codes)
We also collect basic website usage data through standard server logs (page visits, browser type, approximate location). We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to provide the bird sitting services you have engaged. Specifically:
- To confirm bookings and communicate about your service period
- To care for your bird according to your written instructions
- To contact your veterinarian or emergency contact in the event of a medical situation
- To send visit photo updates via your chosen communication channel
- To process payment and maintain our service records
Information Sharing
Eleanor's Avian Care does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. Your information is shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- With your named veterinarian, in the event of a medical emergency, as authorized in your Service Agreement
- With payment processors (Stripe) solely to process your service payment — we do not store payment card information
- As required by law or legal process
Photos of your bird(s) are shared publicly only with your explicit written consent, as indicated in the Service Agreement.
Data Retention
Client records are retained for the duration of the service relationship and for a reasonable period thereafter for business and legal purposes. Home access information (key codes, alarm codes) is returned or securely destroyed at the conclusion of services unless you request that Eleanor retain it for future bookings.
SMS Communications
Eleanor's Avian Care, LLC may send SMS text messages to clients who have provided written consent in their signed Service Agreement. SMS messages are transactional in nature and are sent only to clients with an active or recently completed service engagement.
SMS Program Disclosure
Message types: Booking confirmations, visit updates, care notifications, and time-sensitive service communications. No marketing or promotional messages are sent.
Message frequency: Varies by engagement. Typically 1–3 messages per booking period.
Opt-out: Reply STOP at any time to opt out. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages will be sent.

Home access information is handled with strict confidentiality and is never shared with third parties. Our website and client data systems use industry-standard encryption and access controls.
